I hiked with a group of geocachers and searched for hidden treasure along Hawaii Loa Ridge for this Hana Hou! Magazine story about geocaching in Hawaii. The new sport of geocaching sends adventurers on an outdoor treasure hunt to some of the most beautiful and strange places on the island. People place caches in hidden, interesting locations and post the coordinates online, then fellow geocachers seek out the spot using a GPS device. There are over 50,000 caches worldwide and more than 2,000 of those caches are in Hawaii. It's a fun activity that gets you outside, looking around in places you normally might not go.

Hey Elyse, Do you have a special harness or way of carrying your camera when you hike like this? I've been trying to find something. Looking at Think Tank and Cotton Carrier. You seem to hike a lot for your photos. Just wondering what you would recommend.
