For the past two years I've worked with awesome advertising agency Wall to Wall Studios to create photographs for the Hawaii Pacific Health Foundation's Annual Reports. I spend a week inside some of the biggest hospitals in Hawaii, Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, Pali Momi, Straub, and Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Kauai, documenting a day in the life of the doctors, nurses, and patients. Here are some favorite moments from my time photographing the 2011 HPH Annual Report.

Papakilohoku | Hana Hou! Magazine
Matt and I met kahuna Michael Kumukauoha Lee, possibly the last surviving Papakilohoku, a Native Hawaiian astronomer, astrologer, and seer, he's a direct descendant of King
Kamehameha III, and the twentieth great-grandson of
Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of fire, lightning, wind, and volcanoes. We photographed him chanting and calling upon his ancestors at Ewa Beach Park for the Rainbows feature of Hana Hou! The Hawaiian Airlines Magazine.
A rainbow actually appeared as he chanted for his ancestors!
