Thousands of homes were demolished by the wildfires in San Diego. One of the worst areas hit was Rancho Bernardo, specifically Lancashire St. So strange to drive down a lane, looking at the cookie cutter homes, one after another, and then come upon one completely destroyed- burnt to the ground. Almost like the fire was picking and choosing which houses should go, which ones have bad karma. One family had moved into their new home only a week before!
So, as people returned home, some drove into their garages with the smell of a home cooked meal wafting through the air, not even the siding of their house scorched; while next-door neighbors dug through all that remained of material memories, now only ash and metal.
A fresh start.
