On Memorial Day this summer, I was witness to a beautiful Asian spiritual tradition that 'symbolizes the wish for all beings to live in peaceful coexistence.' Crowds watched in serene awe as lanterns glowing with messages for lost loved ones quietly floated out into the ocean as the sun set over Magic Island.
