Hawaii's King of Corn | Hana Hou! Magazine

I photographed Dr. Jim Brewbaker, a plant breeder/geneticist and the father of tropical corn here in Hawaii, 84 years old with over 5 decades of work under his belt. He is such a jolly and intriguing character and a pleasure to photograph as he showed us around his corn fields at the Waimanalo Research Station and told us about his work. Check out the June/July issue of Hana Hou! The Hawaiian Airlines magazine to see the full article.

Decades of research in little field notebooks stacked inside Brewbaker's office.
